Mail Order Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Gilbert, Arizona
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A dynamic opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist in Charge to lead operations at a growing non-sterile compounding mail-order pharmacy. This direct hire role offers the chance to work hands-on in pharmacy dispensing, patient counseling, and regulatory compliance while supporting expansion into new markets. The position is located in either Gilbert, AZ, or West Egg Township/Galloway, NJ, with a strong preference for candidates who hold West Coast licensure to facilitate national coverage growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and provide patient counseling with professionalism and care
- Oversee pharmacy staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs, USP <795>/<800> standards, and FDA 503A compliance
- Manage inventory control, including controlled substances and essential pharmacy documentation
- Address patient inquiries promptly to maintain superior customer service standards
- Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance for all states served by the pharmacy
Qualifications / Desired Experience
- Current pharmacist license in Arizona or New Jersey, corresponding to work location
- 3–5 years of pharmacy experience, preferably in mail-order, outpatient, community, or compounding settings
- Proven capability to function effectively in a working PIC role
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulations governing 503A compounding facilities
- West Coast licensure (California, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Colorado) highly preferred to support national expansion
- Prior PIC or pharmacy management experience is a plus
- Experience with PioneerRx is desirable; training will be provided if necessary
- Local candidates preferred due to relocation constraints
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Occasional weekend coverage may be required as the pharmacy grows
