Job Title: Assembly Operator V – Trainer
Location: Arden, NC
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Pay Rate: $33–$35/hr (commensurate with experience) + 10% second shift differential
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire


Position Overview

The Assembly Operator V – Trainer is a subject matter expert (SME) responsible for leading training initiatives, certification activities, and advanced skill development within the assembly team. This role ensures operational consistency, serves as a critical link between production, quality, and engineering, and enhances workforce capability through structured coaching and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Training & Certification Leadership

  • Deliver hands-on instruction and certification for operators on products, processes, equipment, and inspection requirements.
  • Mentor operators in advanced technical skills, troubleshooting, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Assess competency and certify operator readiness using skills matrices.
  • Provide constructive feedback, adapting training methods as needed.

Training System Ownership

  • Develop, review, and enhance training materials, standard work procedures, and visual aids.
  • Accurately document training completion, competency evaluations, and qualification sign-offs.
  • Contribute to skills matrices, certification criteria, and process improvements.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion adherence to standard work, minimizing operational variation across shifts.
  • Identify training gaps, collaborating with quality, engineering, and leadership teams to implement solutions.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production and quality issues to drive optimal outcomes.

Leadership & Floor Support

  • Provide on-the-floor leadership and coverage for team leads as required.
  • Influence team performance through technical coaching and effective communication.
  • Mentor other trainers and provide guidance to less experienced operators.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in fiber assembly manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in training, coaching, mentoring, and certifying operators.
  • Strong ability to communicate and explain advanced technical processes.
  • Skilled in utilizing skills matrices and certification systems.
  • Accurate documentation abilities for training and competency assessments.
  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert on processes, equipment, and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience mentoring fellow trainers or acting as a technical leader.
  • Involvement in developing training materials, standard work procedures, and qualification protocols.
  • Proven track record in resolving complex training gaps or performance issues.
