Job Description
Position: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Wound Care
Employment Type: Full-Time
Locations: Denton/ Lewisville/ Arlington/ Dallas, Texas
Patient Population: Adults, ages 18+
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Perform comprehensive wound assessments for hospitalized adult patients.
Evaluate patients and develop individualized wound care treatment plans.
Provide inpatient wound care consultations and follow-up care.
Manage acute, chronic, surgical, pressure, diabetic, and other complex wounds.
Monitor wound progression and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Provide outpatient wound care services when required.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, hospital teams, and other healthcare professionals.
Recommend appropriate wound care treatments, dressings, prevention strategies, and follow-up plans.
Recognize signs of infection, deterioration, and other wound-related complications.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Educate patients and healthcare teams regarding wound prevention and treatment.
Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered wound care.
Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.
No formal physical presence is required for on-call responsibilities. The Nurse Practitioner may be asked to remain available by phone on a limited number of weekends.
There is no shift differential associated with this position.
QualificationsRequiredCurrent Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification.
Appropriate and active Nurse Practitioner licensure to practice in Texas.
Ability to meet hospital credentialing and privileging requirements.
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Commitment to providing high-quality wound care.
Willingness to develop and maintain a strong focus on the wound care specialty.
New graduate ACNPs are welcome to apply. Prior wound care experience is preferred but is not required. We are particularly interested in candidates who are motivated, dependable, clinically engaged, and committed to building a long-term career in wound care.
No additional wound care certification is required. The candidate must hold an ACNP certification.

The role is structured to provide a manageable and focused clinical workload:
Maximum of approximately 15 inpatient visits per day
One facility per day
No requirement to travel between multiple facilities during the same day
Primarily inpatient consultations
