Step into an engaging role focused on making a meaningful impact as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a PreK environment catering to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This full-time, contract opportunity near Somerville, MA, offers you the chance to work closely with a small group of 6-8 children, supporting their growth and unlocking their communication potential.
Schedule:Staff hours are from 7:45 am to 1:30 pm, with direct student time between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm, fostering a manageable and productive daily routine.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed SLP, eligible to practice in a school setting
- Strong background in pediatric and school-based speech-language pathology
- Demonstrated experience supporting young children, preferably within ASD populations
- Exceptional communication skills, both with students and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive preschool classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to preschoolers on the autism spectrum
- Deliver targeted therapy to enhance speech, language, and social communication skills
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate speech strategies in classroom activities
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of progress and interventions
- Liaise with families to provide guidance on promoting communication skills at home
