Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A clinical pharmacy role is available at a Critical Access Hospital in Taos, NM, offering a 13+ week contract opportunity. This position involves working day shifts in a unique small-hospital setting with a maximum patient census of 25.
Schedule:
- Day shifts, 3 days per week
- 12-hour shifts from 06:30 to 19:00
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient operations
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to optimize patient care
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles in medication management and dosing adjustments
- Provide clinical consultations as needed to support inpatient pharmacy services
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active New Mexico pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain a temporary license
- Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital or critical care environment
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently in a small hospital setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
