Job Description
Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a specialty pharmacy setting with a focus on long-term care. This travel opportunity requires a dedicated pharmacist to contribute clinical expertise while ensuring patient safety and medication accuracy. The position is based in Pocahontas, IA, offering a 13+ week assignment with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and some weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
- Perform long-term care pharmacist duties, including medication review and management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and counsel patients on medication use.
- Monitor compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards.
- Support immunization services and other clinical programs when certified.
Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist in Iowa, or eligible for an Iowa temporary license.
- Immunization certification preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Experience in retail pharmacy, particularly in a specialty or long-term care setting, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
- Some weekend shifts may be required.
