Key Qualifications:
- Valid Vermont Special Education Teaching Certification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
- Experience in early childhood education preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique abilities and learning goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress and inclusion
- Provide direct instruction, interventions, and classroom modifications for exceptional learners
- Track, document, and report student progress in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and early childhood teaching
