We are seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to join a supportive school-based team in Yelm, Washington for the 2026–2027 school year.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pediatric PT or a motivated clinician looking to transition into school-based therapy. You'll work alongside educators, special education professionals, families, and other related-service providers to help students improve mobility, strength, coordination, balance, and functional independence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy services to students in a school setting

  • Evaluate students and identify functional/mobility needs

  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans

  • Provide direct and consultative PT services

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings

  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff

  • Recommend appropriate mobility, positioning, and adaptive strategies

  • Help students access and participate more fully in their educational environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an APTA-accredited physical therapy program

  • Current Washington State Physical Therapist license

  • Eligible for Washington school-based ESA certification

  • Pediatric or school-based experience preferred

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • New graduates may be considered

Washington Requirements

Washington requires school physical therapists to hold a Washington Department of Health PT license. School-based PTs also require an Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certificate when providing services under an IEP.

For Washington PT licensure, applicants must graduate from a CAPTE-accredited program and pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE). Washington also provides endorsement and PT Compact pathways for qualifying out-of-state clinicians.
