This role focuses on safely operating both stand-up and sit-down forklifts to support production and shipping activities. You will supply assemblers with materials, move completed parts to the shipping area, and may assist in loading trucks in shipping and receiving. The position requires strong attention to safety and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently in accordance with facility procedures and safety guidelines.
- Supply assemblers with required materials to ensure continuous and efficient production flow.
- Transport completed parts from production areas to the designated shipping locations.
- Load trucks with completed parts in the shipping and receiving area for outbound deliveries.
- Perform material handling tasks, including organizing, staging, and moving inventory within the warehouse.
- Navigate tight work areas with a high volume of forklifts and personnel while maintaining strict safety standards.
- Complete and pass a forklift test to demonstrate safe and effective operation of required equipment.
- Follow all warehouse, shipping, and receiving processes and documentation requirements as directed.
- Adhere to union rules and facility policies, including safety protocols and operational procedures.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and effectively.
- Capability to pass a practical forklift test demonstrating safe and efficient equipment operation.
- Experience in material handling and warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving activities.
- Strong attention to safety, especially when working in tight quarters and high-traffic forklift areas.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Comfort working in non-climate-controlled conditions that may be warm in summer and cool in winter.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the designated shift schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in a unionized work environment is beneficial.
- Previous work in production support or assembly material supply is an advantage.
- Experience loading and unloading trucks in a warehouse or distribution setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with general warehouse practices and safety protocols.

Work Environment
The facility operates in a fast-paced, customer-focused warehouse and production support setting with a high volume of forklift and personnel traffic. Work areas often have tight quarters, requiring careful maneuvering and strict adherence to safety practices. The building is not climate controlled, so temperatures can be warm in the summer and cool in the winter. The environment is unionized, and employees are expected to pay union dues. Shifts include a first shift from Monday to Thursday, approximately 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and a third shift from Monday night to Thursday night, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Standard warehouse attire appropriate for an industrial setting is expected, with a focus on safety and practicality

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.21 - $21.21/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
