The position requires strong technical skills, physical stamina, and the ability to work long hours in varying weather conditions to meet daily production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Pull and terminate DC and medium-voltage cables to support solar power installations.
  • Wire combiner boxes and connect solar modules to inverters according to project specifications.
  • Bend, cut, and install conduit runs to route electrical wiring safely and efficiently.
  • Build service pads and install racking grounds to support electrical infrastructure.
  • Interpret and work from single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and site engineering plans.
  • Perform continuity and voltage tests using multimeters to verify proper installation and operation.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and site safety protocols.

  • Carry old modules and cables to designated disposal areas, including dumpsters, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Place bolts or screws into appropriate holes to secure modules, using power drills and hand tools.
  • Install all assigned modules at a fast pace to keep up with production schedules and daily output targets.
  • Work effectively in an outdoor construction environment, adapting to uneven terrain and changing weather conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care.
  • Collaborate with other team members to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met.

Essential Skills

  • Registered Journeyman Electrician license with the state of Montana.
  • Hands-on electrical experience with DC and medium-voltage systems.

  • Familiarity with using power drills, hand tools, and other basic construction tools.
  • Ability to handle pressure while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with field crews and operators.

Why Work Here?

You will contribute directly to large-scale solar projects in a setting where your technical skills and work ethic have a visible impact. The environment offers substantial opportunities for overtime and steady work, providing consistent hours for those who prefer a high-activity schedule. You will develop and refine your electrical and construction skills on complex, utility-scale projects, gaining valuable field experience in renewable energy. The role suits individuals who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and taking pride in meeting challenging production goals as part of a driven, safety-focused team.
