Electrical Superintendent
Job Post SummarySeeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead the electrical department at a large-scale manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for electrical maintenance, equipment reliability, safety, personnel management, preventive and predictive maintenance, new installations, controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems optimization.
Job Roles and ResponsibilitiesSupervise and lead electricians and electrical department personnel.
Ensure electrical safety and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Schedule and manage preventive and predictive electrical maintenance.
Diagnose equipment failures and oversee repairs.
Manage electrical installations, modifications, and improvement projects.
Develop SOPs and identify and eliminate electrical hazards.
Manage electrical spare parts and critical inventory.
Coordinate with other departments, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Maintain electrical compliance and maintenance documentation.
Design and support power, motor control, controls, instrumentation, and automation systems.
Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems.
Support equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational improvements.
Lead, coach, motivate, and develop electrical staff.
Support departmental budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
Interpret electrical blueprints and P&ID schematics.
5+ years of electrical experience.
3+ years of electrical management or supervisory experience.
Associate degree or vocational/electrical certification, or equivalent experience.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Strong knowledge of industrial plant electrical equipment and maintenance.
Experience with PLCs, control logic, HMI systems, and data communications networks.
Knowledge of instrumentation and electronic equipment.
Knowledge of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems.
Knowledge of IT systems, PC hardware/software, servers, fiber-optic cabling, and network switches.
Understanding of electrical safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to read electrical blueprints and P&ID schematics.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
