Job Summary
A Payroll Specialist is needed for a contract/temporary assignment in Escondido, CA, supporting payroll compliance within the construction industry. This approximately 6-week role will focus on subcontractor compliance reviews, with a primary emphasis on reviewing certified payroll for accuracy and adherence to state and federal requirements.
This is a strong opportunity for a payroll professional with construction industry experience who understands certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, and compliance documentation. The role is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable stepping into a focused assignment where accuracy and regulatory knowledge are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Review certified payroll records to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.
- Support subcontractor compliance reviews for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Identify discrepancies, missing documentation, or potential compliance concerns in payroll submissions.
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally to internal teams as needed.
- Maintain organized records and documentation related to certified payroll and compliance review activities.
- Assist with payroll-related compliance tasks during a leave-of-absence coverage period.
Compensation and Benefits
- $30.00 to $40.00 per hour.
- Contract/temporary assignment expected to last approximately 6 weeks.
- Location: Escondido, CA.
