Service Plumber
Job Description
The Service Plumber performs daily service calls using a company work vehicle to complete repairs, installations, remodels, and material cutting in residential and light commercial settings. This role focuses on sewer replacements and repairs and requires strong customer service and social skills, as you will interact directly with homeowners and clients. You can expect to handle approximately 1–3 service calls per day and receive dedicated training during the first two weeks of employment.
Responsibilities- Perform daily plumbing service calls in residential and light commercial environments, completing 1–3 jobs per day.
- Diagnose plumbing issues and execute repairs, replacements, and installations in line with industry standards and safety requirements.
- Carry out sewer replacements and repairs, using appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques.
- Support remodel projects by installing and modifying piping, fixtures, and related plumbing systems.
- Cut, fit, and assemble PVC and other piping materials accurately and efficiently.
- Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools required for plumbing service work.
- Utilize larger equipment such as jackhammers, sewer cameras, and large power saws when needed for specific jobs.
- Provide professional, courteous customer service to all clients, clearly explaining findings, repair options, and next steps.
- Document work performed, materials used, and job status to ensure accurate records and billing.
- Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working in and around residential properties and light commercial sites.
- Maintain the service van in a clean, organized, and stocked condition to support efficient daily operations.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in training during the first two weeks to learn company processes and standards.
- Identify potential additional work or upgrades and communicate opportunities that may qualify for sales incentives and commissions.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in service plumbing.
- Strong hands-on skills with plumbing repairs, installations, and remodel work.
- Proficiency working with PVC piping and other common plumbing materials.
- Ability to install, repair, and maintain piping systems in residential and light commercial settings.
- Skilled in the use of standard plumbing hand tools.
- Proficiency in operating power tools commonly used in plumbing service work.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot plumbing issues effectively.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with clients in person.
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple service calls per day.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop or starting point for the service van.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting equipment and working in confined spaces when required.
- Any plumbing-related certifications are a plus and may qualify for higher compensation.
- Experience with sewer line replacement and repair is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with operating jackhammers, sewer cameras, and large power saws is beneficial.
- Ownership of personal hand tools and most power tools required for daily service work.
- Comfort working directly with homeowners and clients, explaining technical issues in simple terms.
- Attention to detail in documenting work performed and materials used.
- Strong time management skills to complete multiple service calls per day efficiently.

Work EnvironmentThis role is primarily based in residential service work with some light commercial assignments. You work out of a service van equipped with the tools and materials needed to complete daily jobs. You provide on-site customer service at client properties, often working inside homes and around residential infrastructure. While you must supply your own hand tools and most power tools, larger equipment such as jackhammers, sewer cameras, and large power saws are provided. The environment is field-based and hands-on, requiring a neat appearance and professional demeanor when interacting with customers.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
