This role, based near Troy, NC, will have you dividing your talents between elementary and high school adaptive (functional skills) classrooms—all conveniently located on the same campus.
In this position, you’ll deliver specialized instruction as the teacher of record to a caseload of 15 students (6 at the elementary level, 9 at the high school level) in adaptive settings. An unlicensed but experienced facilitator will collaborate closely with you, allowing you to focus on meeting compliance standards and providing top-tier individualized education.
Qualifications:
- Must hold, or be eligible for, Exceptional Children: Adapted Curriculum (K-12) certification (preferred), but other EC certifications will be considered
- Experience working with students with disabilities in adaptive or functional skills programs preferred
- Strong skills in implementing IEPs, monitoring progress, and providing targeted interventions
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities with interdisciplinary teams
- Organized, adaptable, and passionate about supporting diverse elementary and high school learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the teacher of record for adaptive curriculum students across two grade bands
- Develop, implement, and track IEP goals in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Partner with an experienced unlicensed teacher to facilitate daily instruction and support
- Provide a structured, nurturing classroom that encourages student growth and skill attainment
- Engage with families and school teams to optimize student outcomes
