Job Description
This role focuses on the safe and efficient destruction and disposal of aircraft components and materials in a warehouse environment. You operate a sit-down forklift, handle and scrap metal plates, dismantle aircraft parts, and open large wooden crates using hand and power tools. You ensure that obsolete parts are fully destroyed so they cannot be reused, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-conscious work area.
Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload aircraft components, metal plates, and large wooden crates.
- Handle and position materials for scrapping and demolition, including aircraft parts and related components.
- Scrap and destroy metal plates and other aircraft materials according to established procedures so that they cannot be reused.
- Dismantle aircraft parts and components using hand tools and power tools such as bolt cutters and crowbars.
- Open large wooden crates using crowbars and other tools, ensuring safe handling and preventing damage to surrounding equipment or structures.
- Perform general labor tasks associated with demolition and material handling in a warehouse environment.
- Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move products and components as needed.
- Support order picking and material staging activities as required to keep workflow moving smoothly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all site safety guidelines and procedures.
- Inspect materials during scrapping and demolition activities to ensure proper disposal and compliance with internal standards.
- Collaborate with team members and inspectors to coordinate material flow and meet daily operational goals.
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and complete assigned tasks within expected timeframes.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or industrial environment.
- Experience with material handling, including moving, loading, and unloading heavy items and large crates.
- Ability to use hand tools such as bolt cutters and crowbars for dismantling parts and opening crates.
- Ability to use power tools for demolition and scrapping tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with aircraft components and metal materials.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including opening large wooden crates and handling heavy materials.
- Experience working in general labor roles in a warehouse or similar environment.
- Familiarity with pallet jacks and basic material handling equipment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- exposure to aviation parts or aircraft components is a plus.
- Comfort working in a demolition or parts scrapping capacity.
- Ability to work effectively on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday.
- Strong attention to detail when dismantling and scrapping materials.
- Reliability and punctuality in a structured warehouse operation.

Work Environment
Work takes place in a fully air-conditioned, climate-controlled warehouse environment. The facility operates Monday through Friday on a first shift from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. You work alongside a team that includes multiple inspectors across several levels, supporting organized and quality-focused operations. The dress code consists of jeans or khaki pants, a plain t-shirt, and black closed-toe shoes; after the first week, uniforms are provided at no cost through a vendor. The environment is designed for comfort and efficiency, with modern warehouse infrastructure supporting aviation material handling and scrapping activities.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of BOCA RATON, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
