Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students across multiple school sites in a vibrant district near Gonzales, LA. This role is well-suited for a school psychologist ready to make a meaningful impact, focusing on discipline requests and contributing as a key member of a multidisciplinary team. The assignment runs from August 18, 2026, through May 24, 2027, with a steady commitment of 29 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive educational assessments to identify student needs and provide timely, detailed written reports.
  • Deliver information and referrals to students and families, connecting them to essential community resources.
  • Collaborate directly with students, families, and school personnel to implement effective educational methods and behavioral interventions.
  • Serve as a resource for parents, teachers, and administrators, offering expertise in assessment and learning strategies.
  • Maintain organized case records and documentation to ensure accountability and continuity of services.
  • Participate in in-service training for school staff and parents, and clearly explain assessment processes and findings.
  • Select, administer, score, and interpret assessment instruments accurately, adhering to required timelines.
  • Contribute to appropriate planning for students by interpreting test results and collaborating on individualized educational programs.

Qualifications Sought:

  • Current NASP certification or LSSP credential from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners and Psychologists.
  • Proven experience with psychoeducational evaluations, IDEA compliance, and special education eligibility.
  • Strong skills in assessment data interpretation and comprehensive report writing.
  • Ability to communicate assessment results clearly to both families and school teams.
  • Organizational strengths and time management to maintain compliance with deadlines.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus!
  • Successful completion of district background check and fingerprinting.
