Job Description

The Quality Inspector – 1st Shift is responsible for ensuring the quality and proper inspection of aviation and aircraft parts in a warehouse distribution environment. This role focuses on verifying incoming materials, maintaining accurate quality documentation, supporting quality audits, and ensuring compliance with aviation standards and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily inspections and receipts using warehouse management and customer systems to ensure accurate and timely documentation of inbound aviation parts.
  • Perform inbound visual inspections of aircraft and aviation parts to verify condition, traceability, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare and endorse material certifications in accordance with established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all customer requirements, specifications, and quality expectations are followed consistently in all inspection activities.
  • Support and perform Quality Management audits to maintain compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory standards.
  • Take proactive steps to prevent the occurrence of product nonconformity by identifying issues early and recommending corrective actions.
  • Package goods for hazardous shipments in line with applicable regulations and internal procedures.
  • Maintain and create FAA-related documents for approvals, including documentation associated with aviation parts and quality releases.
  • Make sound decisions that help avoid disturbances or disruptions for customers, prioritizing product quality and on-time delivery.
  • Report all non-conformities or process irregularities promptly and accurately, and contribute to the resolution of quality issues.
  • Collaborate with other inspectors and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and consistent application of quality processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse quality control and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in an aviation environment performing quality inspection functions.
  • Hands-on experience with quality inspection of aviation, aerospace, aircraft, and avionic parts in a distribution or warehouse setting.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation parts and associated quality requirements for both domestic and foreign components.
  • Experience with quality assurance documentation related to aerospace and aviation parts, including traceability and certification records.
  • Familiarity with FAA documentation processes and forms, including 8130, and the ability to maintain and create FAA documents for approvals.
  • Ability to process inspections and receipts within warehouse management and customer systems, such as SAP or similar platforms.
  • Capability to package goods for hazardous shipments in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Attention to detail and strong observational skills to perform inbound visual inspections and identify nonconformities.
  • Ability to interpret and follow established quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Effective decision-making skills to address quality concerns and minimize impact on customers.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills for recording non-conformities and process irregularities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience with FAA Form 8130 is helpful;
  • aviation or aerospace distribution environments is beneficial.
  • Experience working with traceability requirements for airplane and aircraft parts.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) or warehouse management systems is an advantage.
  • Comfort working within established quality management systems and participating in quality audits.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team of inspectors across multiple levels and share best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections and documentation tasks throughout the day.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fully air-conditioned warehouse environment focused on aviation and aircraft parts distribution. You work alongside a team of approximately 11 inspectors across levels 1–3, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Available shifts are Monday–Friday, either 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime and early evening schedules. The dress code requires jeans or khaki pants, a plain T-shirt, and black closed-toe shoes; after the first week, uniforms are provided free of charge by a vendor. The work involves using warehouse management and customer systems, such as SAP, and handling aviation parts, documentation, and hazardous shipment packaging in a clean, climate-controlled facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BOCA RATON, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
