School Nurse (RN or LPN) with a Student in Milwaukee, WI - Full Time

School Nurse – RN/LPN

Location: Milwaukee, WI

A school district in Milwaukee is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide 1:1 nursing support to students. Nurses will be assigned to one school site and work directly with one student throughout the school day.

Position Details:

• Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
• Monday–Friday; most schools begin at 7:30 AM or 8:00 AM
• 1:1 nursing assignment with one student
• Student disabilities and medical needs vary and may include ventilator/tracheostomy care
• Must be comfortable providing care for students with complex medical needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care and support
• Monitor the student’s health and respond to medical needs
• * Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care as required
• * Administer medications and treatments
• * Follow the student’s care plan and medical protocols
• * Communicate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers
• * Maintain accurate health documentation

Qualifications:

• Active Wisconsin RN or LPN license
• CPR and AED certification
• 1 year of pediatric experience preferred
• Comfortable with ventilator/tracheostomy care
• Physically able to perform required duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
• Must have worked as an RN or LPN within the past 2 years, or completed a refresher course within the past year
