Clinical Pharmacist - Taos, NM
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Opportunity to serve as a clinical pharmacist in a critical access hospital setting, supporting quality patient care for a small inpatient population. This role is based in Taos, NM, with a focus on providing expert pharmacy services through a 13+ week contract.
Location: Taos, NM
Schedule/Hours:
- Day-shift
- 3 shifts per week
- 12-hour shifts (06:30 - 19:00)
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain efficient operations
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize medication therapies and patient outcomes
- Perform pharmacokinetic assessments and provide consultation as needed
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist in New Mexico or eligible for a temporary license
- Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably in acute care settings
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work independently in a critical access hospital environment
- Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
This contract position offers the chance to work in a smaller hospital with a max of 25 patients, allowing for meaningful clinical impact. The schedule provides consistent daytime hours with every third day off, supporting work-life balance during the assignment.
