About the Opportunity
A leading organization in the energy sector is seeking a Temp to Hire Contracts Specialist to support its Energy team. This role will partner closely with business development, sales, legal, and commercial stakeholders to facilitate the drafting, negotiation, execution, and management of critical commercial agreements related to energy and gas products.
This is an excellent opportunity for a contract professional who enjoys negotiating agreements, mitigating risk, and collaborating across multiple business functions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, redline, negotiate, and execute a variety of commercial agreements, including:
    • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
    • NAESB Agreements
    • Master Service and Commercial Agreements
    • Additional supplier and counterparty contracts
  • Independently manage contract negotiations with counterparties and internal legal teams.
  • Identify, assess, and communicate contractual, legal, and commercial risks.
  • Develop and manage contracting activities for assigned business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and legal teams to execute agreements that support business objectives.
  • Establish contract priorities based on business needs and stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with contracting policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, legal counsel, suppliers, and counterparties.
  • Draft commercial language designed to mitigate risk and protect business interests.
  • Track contract progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular status updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of standardized contract templates and contracting processes.
  • Support timely delivery and execution of contracts while maintaining strong communication across project teams.
Qualifications
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering commercial contracts.
  • Prior experience supporting business development, energy, oil and gas, renewables, commodities, procurement, supply chain, or similar commercial functions.
  • Strong understanding of contract risk assessment and negotiation strategies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience negotiating energy-related agreements, including NAESB agreements.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy markets, commodity transactions, or energy procurement.
  • Experience partnering with legal teams on complex commercial negotiations.

Pay Details: $42.00 to $45.00 per hour
