CV Resources is seeking a Tax Manager for a growing public accounting and advisory firm in Denver, CO. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships, providing strategic guidance, and serving as a trusted advisor to closely held businesses and individual taxpayers.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee tax engagements from planning through completion, and work closely with firm leadership on complex tax matters. This position offers significant client interaction, autonomy, and opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for a diverse portfolio of business and individual tax clients.
  • Lead tax engagements and oversee the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns.
  • Provide tax planning, projections, and strategic guidance to support client goals.
  • Assist with new client onboarding and identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and compliance.
  • Review financial information and accounting records prior to tax preparation, including adjustments and reconciliations as needed.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis on a variety of technical issues.
  • Collaborate with leadership on complex tax matters and client strategies.
  • Ensure timely completion of deliverables while maintaining a high standard of quality and client service.
  • Act as a trusted advisor through proactive communication and ongoing relationship management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA or EA designation required.
  • Master's in Taxation preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
  • Strong experience reviewing and preparing returns for:
  • S Corporations (1120-S)
  • C Corporations (1120)
  • Partnerships (1065)
  • Individuals (1040)
  • Solid understanding of tax planning concepts for businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Client-focused, professional, and comfortable building relationships with business owners and stakeholders.
