Procurement Specialist
Job Description
The Procurement Sr. Specialist is responsible for driving category management initiatives through strategic sourcing, stakeholder engagement, and supplier relationship management. This role is accountable for bringing spend within assigned categories under procurement management while identifying opportunities for cost savings, mitigating risk, and ensuring supplier performance.
The Specialist partners closely with business stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies, optimize supplier relationships, and drive value through data analysis, competitive bidding processes, and market intelligence. This individual develops category plans, leads procurement initiatives, and influences stakeholders and suppliers at all levels to achieve business objectives.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, customer-focused, and results-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. They possess strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and project management skills while effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting critical timelines.
Key Accountabilities- Execute sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, negotiations, and supplier selection activities aligned with category strategies.
- Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify sourcing opportunities, industry trends, and potential risks.
- Analyze spend data, develop cost-saving opportunities, and communicate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) impacts to stakeholders.
- Support supplier onboarding, supplier performance management, risk mitigation efforts, and contract compliance.
- Monitor category performance metrics, track results against targets, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage commercial and legal agreements while partnering with internal stakeholders to align contractual terms with business objectives and category strategies.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and support business planning activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to drive alignment, collaboration, and successful execution of procurement strategies.
- Develop and implement category management strategies that deliver cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Leverage market intelligence, benchmarking, and data analytics to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plain City, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.65/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
