The HVAC Foreman oversees all day-to-day HVAC activities on multifamily construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans. This role coordinates employees and subcontractors, manages material orders and layout, and proactively drives project progress by identifying and executing all available work. The HVAC Foreman serves as a key point of contact for the project team, communicating issues, resolving work problems, and providing effective leadership on site.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all daily HVAC-related activities on assigned multifamily construction projects.
  • Ensure all employees and subcontractors follow safety procedures and maintain a safe job site.
  • Order and coordinate delivery of materials required to complete HVAC work on the project.
  • Plan and manage HVAC layout in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
  • Proactively manage the project by identifying and pushing forward any available HVAC work to maintain progress and meet schedules.
  • Communicate project issues, constraints, and updates clearly and promptly to the project team.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned scopes of work and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Interface and communicate effectively with field staff, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Analyze work-related problems and implement practical solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Support and guide HVAC installation crews, providing direction on installation methods and sequencing.
  • Monitor HVAC system and sheet metal installation to ensure compliance with plans and industry standards.
Essential Skills
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in HVAC multifamily construction.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and HVAC installation in a construction environment.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC installation and sheet metal work.
  • Proven ability to oversee day-to-day HVAC activities on construction projects.
  • Ability to ensure and enforce safe work practices for employees and subcontractors.
  • Capability to order and manage materials required for HVAC project completion.
  • Skill in planning and managing HVAC layout according to project specifications.
  • Ability to proactively drive project progress by identifying and executing available HVAC work.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interface with project teams and field personnel.
  • Problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve work-related issues in the field.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable method of transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience specifically in HVAC work on multifamily construction projects across diverse sites.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple trades on active construction sites.
  • Comfort using mobile devices (such as tablets and smartphones) for plans, documentation, and communication.
  • Organizational skills to manage materials, schedules, and field documentation.
  • Leadership abilities to guide and support HVAC crews in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This role operates within multifamily construction projects across the DMV and surrounding areas. Work is primarily performed on active construction sites, requiring regular travel between project locations using a personal vehicle or company vehicle as provided. The environment involves coordinating with various trades, working around ongoing construction activities, and spending significant time in the field rather than in an office. The foreman uses tools such as an iPad and phone for communication, accessing plans, and documenting progress, and works within established site safety protocols and construction schedules.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Manassas, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
