Production Associate
Job Description
Job Description
This role supports multiple production stations within a clean, laid-back manufacturing environment, focusing on small-part assembly and electronic cable assembly. There are four openings across first and second shifts, and candidates will be considered for several closely related positions, including Gluing Operator, Shelling Cables, and Housing Cable Assembly. Based on the interview, you will be matched to one of these roles, all of which involve reading work instructions, meeting daily quotas, and performing highly repetitive, seated work with a strong emphasis on quality and attention to detail. We are looking for individuals to interview and start as soon as possible. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half. Apply Today!
Responsibilities
- Read and follow detailed work instructions and production orders to meet daily and weekly quotas across various production stations.
- Perform highly repetitive, seated work while maintaining focus, accuracy, and consistent productivity throughout the shift.
- Conduct small-part assembly and electronic cable assembly tasks, ensuring all components are correctly aligned and secured.
- Carry out visual inspections of assembled parts and cables to verify quality standards and identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Work collaboratively within a production flow environment, understanding how your output affects subsequent stages in the process.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to cleanliness and safety expectations in the production room.
- Gluing Operator: Sit at a dedicated station to apply beads of glue to wires passing through a machine that uses ultraviolet light.
- Gluing Operator: Use both hands and feet to operate the machine and foot pedal to control glue application precisely.
- Gluing Operator: Monitor the quality of glued wires, ensuring beads are applied correctly and consistently to meet quality standards.
- Shelling Cables: Take two pieces of 12-inch cables and connect them to a circuit board following specified assembly instructions.
- Shelling Cables: Apply a small plastic piece, approximately finger-length, over the two cables and use a small hand press to snap the top and bottom halves together securely.
- Shelling Cables: Follow daily production targets measured by cable assembly length and quantity, ensuring all required assemblies are completed.
- Shelling Cables: Connect wires to circuit boards once the plastic housing is in place and route them correctly to string assemblies together.
- Housing Cable Assembly: Insert crimped wires into small plastic housings at the ends of the wires, placing caps accurately and consistently.
- Housing Cable Assembly: Perform repetitive cap placement on wire ends while maintaining speed and quality to meet daily work order requirements.
- Housing Cable Assembly: Follow work orders specifying the number of assemblies to complete each day and report progress as needed.
- Support continuous production flow by maintaining adequate output so downstream processes do not experience delays or backups.
- Follow all instructions and guidelines related to production metrics, quality requirements, and productivity expectations.
- Use basic hand tools and small presses safely and correctly during assembly tasks.
- Adapt to different stations as needed, applying the same core skill set across gluing, housing cable assembly, and shelling cables.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to perform visual inspection with high attention to detail, identifying defects and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Experience working in a production or assembly line environment (preferred), with familiarity in meeting quotas and productivity metrics.
- Hands-on experience assembling small parts, particularly in small-part or electronic assembly settings.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently throughout the shift.
- Comfort with highly repetitive tasks while seated for extended periods, maintaining focus and quality.
- General production and assembly skills, including working with hand tools and basic machine operation.
- Experience with small-part assembly and general production work in a cleanroom or similarly controlled environment (as applicable).
- Capability to perform visual inspection as part of electronic assembly and general production processes.
- Reliable attendance and a strong, positive attitude toward meeting productivity and quality expectations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with cables and cable assemblies, including connecting wires to circuit boards.
- Experience in electronics or electronic assembly, especially involving small components and circuit boards.
- Familiarity with production environments where work is measured by length, quantity, or other specific metrics.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-based production flow where each station’s output affects the next.
- Comfort using small hand presses and foot-operated equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
Why Work Here?
You will join a very clean and laid-back production environment where you can focus on your work while listening to music through ear pods (audio only, no videos). The organization offers competitive pay rates for this type of work and has a track record of converting contractors to direct employees after several months for those who demonstrate excellent attendance, a great attitude, and strong productivity. You will contribute to products used in the construction industry that help evaluate concrete quality and foundation conditions, supporting safer and more efficient building projects while enjoying a stable, supportive workplace.
Work Environment
This role is based in a production-focused environment where all related positions operate within a single room, allowing you to see the full flow of work—from crimping to housing cable assemblies, shelling cables, and gluing. The workspace is very clean and organized, with approximately 12 employees seated at individual workstations performing small-part and cable assembly tasks. Work is primarily seated and repetitive, with a strong emphasis on maintaining production flow; if one area falls behind, it can impact the rest of the line. The atmosphere is laid back yet productivity-driven, and you may wear ear pods to listen to music during your shift, provided you do not watch videos. Shifts are structured as first shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and second shift (3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.), offering options that can align with different scheduling needs. Dress expectations align with a clean production setting, emphasizing safety and comfort appropriate for working with small parts, hand tools, and light machinery.
