Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a center-based program serving ages kindergarten through 26 with moderate to severe disabilities. Located near Sterling Heights, MI, this full-time position requires an empathetic, dedicated professional to provide expert physical therapy services over the course of the academic year, from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027.

In this role, you will deliver hands-on physical therapy exclusively onsite (remote is not available), working 35 hours per week to enhance students’ mobility, functional independence, and access to the curriculum. You’ll make a tangible difference daily, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, educators, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s unique abilities and needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold a current, valid Michigan Physical Therapy license (please be prepared to provide a screenshot of your license at the time of application)
  • Previous experience working in a school-based setting
  • Expertise with center-based programming and moderate to severe disabilities preferred
  • Commitment to working individually with students and integrating physical therapy into IEPs
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
  • PT candidates only; candidates with PTA licensure are not eligible

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess student needs and develop individualized therapy plans
  • Deliver direct therapy services according to best practices and IEP requirements
  • Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student goals
  • Maintain detailed records and participate actively in team meetings
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive school environment
