Preferred Qualifications:
- Active State Special Education Teaching License
- Demonstrated leadership in managing a High School Life Skills or self-contained classroom
- Experience developing and implementing functional academic lessons and adaptive living skills
- In-depth knowledge of high school transition planning, including vocational preparation and post-secondary pathways
- Strong ability to lead and collaborate with paraprofessionals within a specialized setting
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction in functional academics, daily living activities, and community-based learning
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and individualized programs tailored to each student’s needs and goals
- Guide students through post-secondary transition planning, fostering independence in every aspect of their education
- Oversee classroom management, ensuring a safe and supportive environment while supervising and mentoring paraprofessional staff
- Collaborate closely with families, service providers, and related staff to maximize student growth and outcomes
