CNC Machine Operator - Level II
Job Description
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC production equipment, including CNC lathes and mills.
Operate CNC production cells across multiple machines.
Load and unload parts into CNC production machines.
Identify worn tooling and replace tools and inserts as needed.
Machine precision parts to tight tolerances, including less than 0.001 inch.
Interpret blueprints containing section views, detail views, GD&T, and process routing.
Perform basic CNC troubleshooting related to worn tooling, fixturing, tool offsets, and work offsets.
Perform all required in-process and final quality checks.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow job packets, material handling procedures, shop floor procedures, and product identification requirements.
Work under general supervision while meeting production and quality expectations.
Support continuous improvement and maintain accurate, efficient operator performance.
Perform other comparable machining and production duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Prior CNC machining experience preferred.
Experience operating CNC lathes and mills.
Knowledge of gauges and precision measurement tools preferred.
Knowledge of CNC tooling and inserts.
Ability to machine parts to tolerances below 0.001 inch.
Ability to read and interpret CNC machining blueprints.
Understanding of GD&T, section views, detail views, and process routing.
Ability to perform basic CNC troubleshooting.
Ability to perform required quality inspections and checks.
Ability to work safely and effectively under general supervision.
Ability to frequently lift and carry materials up to 100 pounds with available hoists/forklifts.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform required bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and other physical activities.
Training / Technical Knowledge:
Basic CNC Horizontal Machining Center training.
Basic CNC Lathe training.
Basic CNC Vertical Machining Center training.
Quality records and procedures training.
ISO 9001 quality policy and procedures.
Job packet and material handling procedures.
Shop floor procedures.
Product identification procedures.
Safety training and company policies.
