You’ll play a pivotal role in guiding non-native English speakers as they strengthen their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. This full-time position, set in a welcoming Louisiana community, runs from ASAP through late May 2027.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Holds an active Louisiana Teaching License/Certification with all required ESL endorsements
- Experienced in General Education or ELA instruction; background in supporting English Learners is highly preferred
- Demonstrates strong classroom management and communication skills
- Brings patience, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit to diverse learning environments
- Committed to fostering respect for different cultures and supporting varied learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lessons that build English proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure academic growth
- Provide individualized support to help students acclimate to classroom routines and expectations
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, school staff, and families to support student achievement
- Maintain accurate records and participate in professional development as needed
