Job Description
Step into a dynamic educational setting where your expertise as a Physical Therapist can make a real difference for students with moderate to severe disabilities. This full-time position is available for the 2026–2027 academic year, running from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a commitment of 35 hours per week. You'll play an integral part in a center-based program that serves individuals from kindergarten through age 26.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Active Michigan Physical Therapist license (required—please be ready to provide a screenshot of your license upon application)
- Prior experience working as a PT in a school-based environment
- Comfort and competence supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Dedication to onsite work; this position is not remote or hybrid
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on physical therapy services tailored to the developmental and individual needs of each student
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work closely with teaching staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom setting
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes per district and state requirements
- Engage in team meetings, contribute to multidisciplinary decision making, and communicate progress with parents and guardians
