Job Description

As an Assembler, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and productive work area while stepping in for absent positions, excluding maintenance, as needed.
Responsibilities- Assemble materials for shipment or components in accordance with specifications and instructions.
- Select materials from specific heats or for physical condition as per order instructions.
- Count, record heat or test numbers or symbols, and list random lengths and other necessary information on orders.
- Maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards for each job assignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, with responsibilities and activities subject to change.
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection, measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using hand tools for banding and packaging materials.
- Understanding of work order packaging specifications.
- Attention to detail and inspection accuracy for counting materials and verifying order specifications.
- Certified fork truck experience preferred.
- Crane experience preferred, including sheet lifters, chains, slings, hoists, or hooks.
- Blueprint reading and mechanical assembly skills.
- Basic problem-solving and adaptability in a dynamic production environment.
- Experience in the metals or steel industry is preferred.

Work EnvironmentThe work takes place in a standard manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled. The team consists of around 40 people on the production floor. The dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans, and a T-shirt. The working hours for the 1st shift are from 4am to 2:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and for the 2nd shift, from 2:30pm to 1am, Monday through Thursday.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hilliard, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.69 - $22.69/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
