Pharmacy Manager in Clearlake, CA

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An interim Pharmacist-in-Charge/Director of Pharmacy role is available at a small rural hospital in Northern California, serving as a critical access facility with 25 beds. This position offers an opportunity to lead pharmacy operations in a close-knit healthcare environment.

Location: Clearlake, CA
Type: Contract (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage pharmacy staffing, with primary focus on daily operations (approximately 90%)
• Oversee order verification processes to ensure accuracy and safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Consult actively with physicians and nurses to optimize patient care
• Contribute to pharmacokinetics management and related clinical functions
• Perform administrative tasks supporting pharmacy services (approximately 10%)

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid California pharmacist license
• Experience working within a hospital pharmacy setting, preferably in critical access or similar environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage both clinical and operational pharmacy functions effectively
