Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This opportunity spans from August 24, 2026, through June 14, 2027, covering two vibrant sites serving 2nd through 5th graders near Southbridge, MA. You’ll balance your time evenly between both locations, engaging as a case manager for a diverse group of 25–35 students.
Your responsibilities will include leading IEP meetings, delivering a blend of inclusive push-in services, and providing targeted small group pullout support in reading and math. With collaboration and advocacy at the forefront, you’ll guide each student toward their goals while partnering closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching Certification (required)
- Experience with elementary-aged students, particularly in inclusive and small group settings
- Strong organizational skills to manage a moderate caseload and case management duties
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and related documentation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with colleagues and families
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning needs
Role Duties:
- Split a full-time schedule between two 2nd–5th grade campuses
- Serve as case manager: lead IEP meetings, facilitate communication, maintain compliance
- Deliver special education services both in classroom inclusion and small group pullout formats
- Support student growth in reading and math through individualized instruction
- Maintain records, monitor progress, and adjust supports as needed
