Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where you’ll make an impact supporting students’ mobility and functional skills throughout the full school year. As a dedicated Physical Therapist, you’ll work across four school buildings—serving both elementary and middle school populations near Des Plaines, IL. With a manageable caseload of about 20 students and most buildings having only a couple of students each, you’ll have the bandwidth to deliver high-quality, individualized care and intervention.

Your schedule will offer consistency and work-life balance, with hours from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at elementary schools and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at middle schools. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engaging educators, parents, and other specialists as you strive to help each student reach their fullest potential.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Physical Therapy license for practicing in Illinois
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
  • Strong proficiency working with elementary and middle school students
  • Comfortable managing a caseload across multiple buildings
  • Effective communicator with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy services tailored to students’ individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Travel between two elementary and two middle schools as needed
  • Screen, evaluate, and document students’ motor and functional abilities
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapy into students’ daily school routines
  • Provide guidance and support to families regarding student progress and at-home strategies
  • Maintain timely records in accordance with school policy
