Job Description
Step into a meaningful role as a Special Education Teacher, supporting upper elementary students in a focused, collaborative environment near the Grand Ledge area. You'll work at a dedicated site, providing impactful instruction to a small caseload of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This contract position is structured for optimal work-life balance: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, with a caseload currently at 5 students—never exceeding 6.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education certification
- Required ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) certification
- Experience with upper elementary students is a plus
- Proficiency in communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized teaching and tailored support to a small group of students with ASD, ensuring their educational and developmental needs are met
- Design and implement individualized instructional strategies and interventions that foster academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and adhere to all compliance standards
- Collaborate effectively with school staff and related service providers to craft well-rounded support plans
