Step into a key role in supporting young learners by joining a dynamic special education preschool program as a dedicated school psychologist. This contract opportunity is based at a single school site and offers the chance to make a lasting impact with a welcoming, collaborative staff. The assignment is full-time, beginning mid to late September and extending at least through January, with the possibility of continuation for the remainder of the academic year.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current certification as a School Psychologist
  • Previous experience working with preschool or early elementary special education populations
  • Excellent knowledge of behavioral and developmental assessment tools
  • Strong communication skills when interacting with students, educators, and families
  • Capacity to develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Flexibility, empathy, and a team-oriented approach

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments and provide written reports for preschool-aged children
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating with teachers, specialists, and parents to develop student plans
  • Deliver counseling and interventions to promote student success and well-being
  • Support the multidisciplinary team through consultation, crisis management, and professional guidance
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to program, district, and state regulations
