This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide essential diagnostic and evaluation services within a supportive educational setting. With a focus on serving a diverse student population, you will collaborate closely with a preschool evaluation team, and may have the opportunity to work with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This flexibility provides valuable experience across all age groups.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education Educational Diagnostician Certification required
  • Previous experience performing educational evaluations and diagnostic assessments in school settings preferred
  • Familiarity with IDEA and state educational regulations highly valued
  • Must complete district-specific background check and fingerprinting prior to assignment
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills essential
  • Open to both onsite and VOCO (virtual/remote) service models

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for assessment, particularly within the preschool age group
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret data and develop recommendations tailored to student needs
  • Contribute expertise to eligibility determinations and individualized education program (IEP) development
  • Clearly communicate results and findings to parents, educators, and administrators
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
  • Flexibility to provide services across multiple campuses as assigned

This position offers consistent hours with a 29-hour workweek during the academic year. The assignment runs from mid-August through late May, aligning with the school calendar and allowing for work-life balance.
