School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Amherst, Massachusetts

Make an impact as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting middle school students in grades 5–7 on a contract basis. This engaging role offers flexibility, with full-time hours available but consideration for part-time applicants who can commit at least 20 hours per week. You’ll work closely with diverse learners, contributing to their communication growth during a pivotal stage of their development.

What you bring:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Valid SLP license for the state (CFY, CCC welcome to apply)
• Experience or strong interest working with middle school-aged students (grades 5–7)
• Confidence in evaluating and managing a dynamic caseload
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Familiarity with school-based therapy practices and IEP processes
• Professionalism and adaptability in fast-paced educational settings

Role responsibilities:

• Assess and identify speech, language, and communication needs among 5th–7th grade students
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans in alignment with each student’s IEP goals
• Conduct both group and individual therapy sessions, adjusting plans as needs evolve
• Consult and confer with teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress
• Serve as an advocate for students’ communication needs within the school community
• Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and school initiatives
