Job Description
Make an impact as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting middle school students in grades 5–7 on a contract basis. This engaging role offers flexibility, with full-time hours available but consideration for part-time applicants who can commit at least 20 hours per week. You’ll work closely with diverse learners, contributing to their communication growth during a pivotal stage of their development.
What you bring:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license for the state (CFY, CCC welcome to apply)
- Experience or strong interest working with middle school-aged students (grades 5–7)
- Confidence in evaluating and managing a dynamic caseload
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Familiarity with school-based therapy practices and IEP processes
- Professionalism and adaptability in fast-paced educational settings
Role responsibilities:
- Assess and identify speech, language, and communication needs among 5th–7th grade students
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans in alignment with each student’s IEP goals
- Conduct both group and individual therapy sessions, adjusting plans as needs evolve
- Consult and confer with teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress
- Serve as an advocate for students’ communication needs within the school community
- Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and school initiatives
