School Occupational Therapist - Niles, Michigan

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist seeking a full-time, contract position for the remainder of the school year. This role involves providing essential therapy services within an educational setting, making a direct impact on students’ functional abilities and academic success. The position starts as soon as possible and runs through the end of the current school year.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to support students’ needs
• Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress
• Consult with educators and participate in student support meetings as required
• Provide therapy in both school-based and, if needed, home health environments
• Maintain records and comply with all documentation and reporting requirements

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid state license or eligibility for occupational therapy practice
• Experience in school or pediatric therapy—additional home health or general healthcare OT background is a plus
• Knowledge of current best practices in occupational therapy within schools
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to start promptly and commit through the school year’s end
