Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive educational setting near Lansing, MI. This contract opportunity focuses on guiding and empowering upper elementary students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at a conveniently located facility.
Your daily schedule runs weekdays from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, providing plenty of structure and predictability. With a manageable caseload of five students—never to exceed six—you’ll have the opportunity to deliver truly individualized support and see your students thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Michigan Special Education teaching certification
- ASD endorsement required
- Experience supporting upper elementary students preferred
- Strong skills in communication, teamwork, and collaboration
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and intervention plans based on students’ IEPs
- Monitor growth, document progress, and adjust strategies as needed
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, support staff, and related service providers
- Support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth of each student
- Ensure compliance with all relevant educational standards and reporting requirements
