Job Description
This full-time Construction Materials Technician (Soil) role is a laboratory-based position focused on testing and analyzing soils and geotechnical materials. You will prepare soil samples, perform a variety of standardized tests, and accurately document results to support project schedules and quality assurance requirements in a safety-focused, process-driven environment.
Responsibilities- Work full time in the laboratory performing soils testing in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Prepare soil samples for testing and analysis, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and organization.
- Perform moisture content, density, classification, compaction, and other soils-related laboratory tests.
- Record and document test results accurately, maintaining clear and complete data in lab reports and testing records.
- Maintain organized samples, lab reports, and testing records to ensure traceability and efficient workflow.
- Follow laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements at all times.
- Support project schedules by completing testing within required timelines and meeting testing deadlines.
- Manage multiple samples and testing priorities while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure all work aligns with quality assurance standards for construction materials and soil testing.
- 1+ years of soils laboratory experience preferred, particularly in construction materials or geotechnical testing.
- Hands-on experience with soil testing procedures, including moisture content, density, classification, compaction, and related tests.
- Proficiency in preparing, organizing, handling, and tracking soil samples accurately.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to record test data and maintain accurate lab records.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to follow testing procedures closely and consistently.
- Experience in construction materials testing and quality assurance related to soils and soil compaction.
- Ability to manage multiple samples and testing priorities while maintaining organization and accuracy.
- Reliable attendance and commitment to meeting testing deadlines in a laboratory environment.
- Comfort working full time in an indoor laboratory setting focused on soils and geotechnical materials.
- Soil testing experience in a geotechnical or construction materials context is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly samples, records, and laboratory workflows.
- Ability to work effectively in a safety-focused, process-driven environment.
- Demonstrated consistency and reliability in following testing standards and laboratory procedures.
- Interest in construction, materials testing, and quality assurance as part of project delivery.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Tulsa, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
