Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team, specializing in sheet metal fabrication for HVAC contractors. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, use a tape measure, and possess basic mechanical aptitude. You will be responsible for operating a brake press, hand tools, and tin snips to accurately measure, cut, form, and assemble sheet metal components. An understanding of the HVAC industry and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints for sheet metal fabrication projects.
  • Operate brake press, hand tools, and tin snips efficiently.
  • Accurately measure, cut, form, and assemble sheet metal components.
  • Apply mechanical aptitude to solve fabrication challenges.
  • Understand the HVAC industry and the specific products being produced.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.
  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with brake press or press brake operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in MIG welding.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes and techniques.

Work Environment

This is a 1st shift role with working hours from 6am to 4pm, offering flexibility. The shop is located at the back of two buildings along Kraft Ave, featuring a loop of machinery and a dedicated welding area. Dress code is casual and appropriate for a fabrication environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
