Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician for a 1st shift position from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves working in a specialized Sheet Extrusion processing environment, a unique process employed by only a few companies across the country.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to applicable codes and safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine layout and installation procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other trades and contractors to ensure seamless project completion.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and hours worked.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to clients and team members.
- Assist with the repairs of equipment as it relates to electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot wiring diagrams, drawings, schematics, specifications, ladder logic, and electric circuit theory concepts – both AC and DC.
- Use testing equipment to inspect and test electrical installations and repair work for compliance with safety standards.
- Demonstrate proper knowledge of high and low voltage electricity.
- Prepare activity reports.
- 5+ years of electrical troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Proficient in using electrical tools and equipment.
- Strong analytical skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in a plastics-related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of maintenance technician skills, hydraulics, mechanical and pneumatic systems, repair, preventive maintenance, blueprint reading, and PLC control.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunction, downtime, or stoppage.

Work EnvironmentWork in a new building with a modern setup. The role requires physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools. Comfort in various environments, including confined spaces and heights, is necessary. The job entails standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods. Wearing personal protective equipment such as hard hats, shoes, glasses, gloves, vests, and pads is mandatory.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Gurnee, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
