Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a full-time Occupational Therapist for the upcoming fall semester, serving students near the vibrant Saint Paul, MN area. This role spans from September 18th through January 4th, offering a chance to make a lasting difference in young lives while gaining valuable experience in a supportive school environment. You’ll play a key role across both a middle school and elementary site, partnering with educators and administrators to foster student success.
Utilize your expertise to assess student needs, implement effective interventions, and empower students to reach their highest potential. This position also includes supervising a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), providing valuable mentorship and collaboration.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Minnesota
- Previous experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Strong skills in assessment, intervention planning, and documentation
- Comfortable supervising COTAs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work effectively with students from elementary through middle school levels
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Evaluate student progress, modify therapy plans, and maintain accurate records
- Supervise and support the COTA in daily activities and treatment implementation
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to ensure holistic student support
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the educational planning process
