School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Waterbury, Connecticut
Job Description
Make a meaningful difference supporting elementary students as a dedicated professional providing speech-language pathology services. This full-time, onsite contract position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about facilitating communication growth in a supportive school environment. With 35 hours weekly and two openings available, you’ll play a key role across elementary caseloads—potentially splitting your time between two school sites.
Key Qualifications:
- Active speech-language pathology license in Connecticut
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Previous school-based SLP experience
- Availability for full-time (35 hours/week) onsite service
- Ability to work with elementary student populations
- Willingness to split caseload between two locations as needed
- Successful completion of district fingerprinting and background check
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Upfront licensure highly desirable
- Only SLPs with CCCs will be considered—assistants (SLPAs) are not eligible
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy to elementary students
- Conduct and interpret assessments, documenting outcomes clearly
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Travel between assigned schools within the district as necessary
- Engage in ongoing communication with school staff and families
- Maintain accurate, timely records and reports for compliance
