Snelling is currently recruiting for a Commercial Maintenance Technician in the Birmingham, AL area. Hours are Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM, (NO ON-CALL WORK) $19.00/hr to start.
This position is responsible for assisting the Facility Manager with the overall upkeep and maintenance of the building (no travel required). The applicant will be required to exhibit electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot, make repairs, and do other commercial maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities for HVAC/Maintenance Technician:
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance duties.
- Perform repairs on equipment and trouble shoot
- Paint, patch and repair walls.
- Assist with drywall, sheetrock, changing light fixtures, electrical outlets.
Qualifications for HVAC/Maintenance Technician:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2-3 years of experience working in maintenance role.
- Previous HVAC experience is a plus.
- Must be a self-starter and can complete routine maintenance tasks without direct supervision.
- Working knowledge of power tools.
- Must have the physical ability for heavy lifting, (max. 100 lbs.).
- Knowledge of building code requirements and safety standards.
- Must have a broad knowledge of general electrical maintenance
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
