Travel Surgical Technologist – CVOR

Location: Dallas, TX 75231
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:30 AM–7:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Specialty: Surgical Technologist – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Surgical Technologist – CVOR to join a high-volume, Level I Trauma facility in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiovascular and open-heart surgical experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
  • At least 2 years of recent CVOR experience within the last 6 months
  • Experience with:
    • Open-heart procedures
    • Cardiovascular and endovascular procedures
    • Impella procedures
    • Aortic and other vascular dissections
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Active CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, instruments, equipment, and sterile technique
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
  • Availability for scheduled call, weekend, and holiday coverage as required
Facility & Surgical Environment

The facility operates 29 operating rooms across two buildings and performs approximately 30–40 surgical cases per day.

The surgical environment includes:

  • 4 Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical systems
  • 2 Endovascular ORs
  • 2 Cardiothoracic ORs
  • 1 Brain Suite
  • 2 Trauma ORs
  • 1 Cystoscopy OR
Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for cardiovascular and other surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and the surgical team during open-heart, cardiovascular, endovascular, and trauma procedures
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-control standards
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team
  • Handle and maintain specialized CVOR instruments and equipment
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures
  • Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in assigned call coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays when scheduled
