Fiber Optic Cable Technician – 2nd Shift
Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fiber Optic Cable Technician to join our 2nd shift team. This position is responsible for assembling, testing, and finishing fiber optic cable assemblies while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble fiber optic cables by stripping, crimping, tinning, and cutting cables to precise lengths according to technical drawings and work instructions.
- Perform fiber optic connectorization, including cleaning and polishing fiber ends using established procedures.
- Operate specialized testing equipment to inspect and verify cable assemblies meet company and customer quality requirements.
- Apply labels, rubber boots, protective components, and other finishing materials to completed cable assemblies.
- Read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout the assembly and testing process.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in fiber optic assembly, cable assembly, electrical assembly, or manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive precision work.
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions and technical drawings.
- Comfortable working with small components and specialized tools/equipment.
- Must be dependable and able to work the assigned 2nd shift schedule.
