We are searching for a reliable, motivated individual interested in building their skills in the low voltage and telecommunications industry. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity working alongside one of our experienced Lead Technicians on local service calls, installations, rollouts, and projects.You will not be expected to work independently when starting. A Lead Technician will accompany you on assigned sites while you gain hands on experience and develop the skills necessary to take on work independently.As you demonstrate the ability to reliably complete work on your own, you will become eligible for additional opportunities and increased hourly rates based on the skill level achieved.Job Details:

Candidates with experience in construction, electrical work, IT support, telecommunications, cable installation, or other hands on technical fields are encouraged to apply.Typical Responsibilities:While working alongside a Lead Technician, assignments may include:
- 1099 independent contractor position.
- Entry level Low Voltage Technician / Helper.
- Ongoing work opportunities.
- Work alongside an experienced Lead Technician while developing your skills.
- Starting hourly rate based on existing experience.
- Rate increases based on demonstrated technical ability and ability to complete work independently.
- Opportunity to progress into independent technician dispatches.
- Travel may be required up to approximately 60 miles with travel pay included.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a smartphone
- Must be dependable and punctual for accepted assignments
- Must be willing to learn and work alongside a Lead Technician
- Must be comfortable using basic hand and power tools
- Must be comfortable working from ladders and in commercial environments
- Must be physically capable of pulling and routing low voltage cabling
- Must be able to communicate professionally with customers and other technicians
- Must be able to follow project instructions and safety requirements
- Cat5e and Cat6 structured cabling.
- Cable pulling and installation.
- Cable termination and testing.
- Network racks and patch panels.
- WiFi and wireless access points.
- CCTV and IP cameras.
- Analog telephone and VOIP systems.
- POS systems.
- Fiber optic cabling.
- Basic networking.
- Electrical or commercial construction.
- Pulling and routing Cat5e, Cat6, fiber, coax, and other low voltage cabling.
- Installing cable supports, J hooks, surface mount boxes, and pathway materials.
- Assisting with cable termination, testing, labeling, and documentation.
- Assisting with wireless access point and CCTV installations.
- Assisting with network racks, patch panels, switches, and other equipment.
- Assisting with troubleshooting and service calls.
- Organizing project materials and maintaining clean work areas.
- Taking required site and completion photos.
- Following project specific and safety requirements.
- Learning proper installation and troubleshooting practices from an experienced Lead Technician.
