We are a supplier of precision aerospace structures providing engineering, testing, validation, and program management for our clients. We were founded to address the needs of the spacecraft and aerospace vehicle community where quality, deadlines, and cost are increasingly key to the success of a program. We are looking to add to our agile and talented team of manufacturing personnel to continue our mission.
Description:
The Mechanical Engineer 1 will be responsible for creating and implementing mechanical mechanisms. You will have ownership of your work through the design and may also participate in the manufacturing, testing and integration of systems. Help develop and refine components utilizing design skills, hand calculations and finite element analysis or other modeling tools as needed.
Fundamental Requirements:
· Effective communication both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
· Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
· Regular attendance at the worksite
· Capable of recognizing and solving typical problems that can occur in one’s own work area and evaluates and selects solutions from
established options
· Strong mathematic skills
· Strong work character: honesty, punctuality, integrity
· Detail oriented
· Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work area
· Positive, strong, responsible intensely professional work character.
Technical Skills:
· General knowledge of or coursework in manufacturing, design and drawing practices including geometric dimensioning and
tolerancing
· Familiarity with ANSIY14.5 drawings preferred
· Practical understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009)
· Proficiency in presentation of technical findings
· Proficiency in clear written communication
· Proficiency with mechanical computer aided design (CAD/parametric, modeling)
· Proficiency in deploying academic study such as thermo-dynamics, stress analysis FEA in a practical expedient way
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
· Perform detailed 3D designs, generate CAD drawings and related documents, and support manufacturing and assembly of components
· Support with the development and refining components and subsystems utilizing skills, hand calculations or other modeling tools
· Perform detailed 3D designs, generate CAD drawings and related documents
· Support manufacturing and assembly of components
· Document test plans and procedures
· Ability to develop complex test protocols and interpret data
· Communicate technical assessments and experimental results to specialist and non-specialist audience
· Provide leadership in the development of complex mechanical test protocols
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor of science in Engineering (Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace)
