Earles Engineering Inspection (EEI) - a Pittsburg, KS-based firm delivering civil, structural, environmental, inspection, and surveying services across Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma - has a 30 year record of partnering with municipalities, state agencies, and private developers on water, wastewater, and land development projects.
Position Overview
EEI is seeking a Civil Engineer with a focus on water and wastewater design to join our growing team. This role will work directly with communities on municipal water, sewer, and drainage projects - developing designs, preparing plans and specifications, and communicating regularly with community leaders and staff.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop municipal water and wastewater systems, including waterlines, sanitary sewers, lift stations, and treatment facilities/lagoons
Prepare drainage studies, storm sewer designs, and detention pond layouts
Support street and highway design projects as needed
Prepare detailed engineering reports, plans, and specifications for municipal clients

Assist in client management, including regular communication with community leaders
and staff

Coordinate with project managers and senior engineers on project scheduling, budgets,
and deliverables
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
2–10 years of civil engineering experience; minimum 2 years required
Experience with water and wastewater design strongly preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, but not required - candidates without a PE
should have a clear interest in pursuing licensure
Autodesk Civil 3D experience preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to and working
directly with community leaders and municipal staff

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
at once
